Time to Prepare for Nesting-- Bald Eagles

The local Bald Eagles are preparing for the next nesting season. They are present nearly every day now and have been carrying grasses to the nest for the coming season. They have nested here every year since 2008.

There have been two juveniles present the last several days off and on. I speculate perhaps their offspring from last season since they are not driving them off.

My Nature Journal entry documenting this-- On a very windy day, the eagle struggled to maneuver flying through the steady winds and gusts carrying nesting material.
